A succulent's spiral, reduced to light on every leaf edge.
Photographed from directly above, a large agave-like succulent fills the frame with concentric rings of thick, pointed leaves. Pale imprints and bright margins trace where each leaf once pressed against its neighbour, mapping the plant's spiral growth. In monochrome the dark blades read almost as metal, and the surrounding foliage falls into deep shadow, leaving the rosette's geometry to hold the eye alone.
