No. 138The Outdoors
Winter Thaw in the Tall Pines
One flash of green in a grid of grey trunks and receding snow.
A dense stand of tall, straight pines rises from ground caught between seasons, where thinning snow gives way to rust-coloured needle litter. Deep in the frame, a lone figure in a vivid green jacket stops on the trail, small enough to read the true scale of the trees. Flat spring light and the converging trunks pull the eye straight to that single point of colour.
